I used to be a varsity player in my grade and high school days. I play table tennis and go to events or tournaments. I have won 14 medals in total and used to really love playing but ever since the covid 19 pandemic happened, i wasn’t able to hold a ball and a paddle again. Instead, I switched to reading and writing. I used to collect books in my highschool days but now i prefer writing and reading online.

I am frequently asked how I am able to maintain my positivity. Contrary to popular belief, healing and nurturing our mental wellbeing aren't always rainbows and cupcakes. There will undoubtedly be ups and downs in each stage of life that we enter. And it is manifestly false for anyone to think that those with excellent mental stability are immune from experiencing the "downs." In actuality, emotionally competent individuals experience the same things as everyone else.Accepting our emotions is the first step in caring for our well-being. You must constantly remind yourself that feelings of sadness or rage are perfectly acceptable. Stop invalidating yourself and start experiencing your feelings.

The next thing is to make an effort. Aside from validating your emotions and what you currently feel you need to make an effort on what to do with these feelings. Well some people find it funny that whenever i am upset i start to clean my area or go out to unwind but to me it is very effective. Studies have shown that moving your body does something to your brain and it shifts your focus to the negative thoughts that you are having. It removes those tiny bubbles of “what ifs'' and other untrue thoughts that will make me more upset.

Other info

I'm taking a BS in psychology as my pre-med as I am very eager to continue my studies after graduating and entering med school. I am still unsure if I will pursue pediatrics or psychiatry but I am hopeful that I will end up between the two! I’ve always known I will enter psychology since i was in high school because i am interested in studying the human mind and behavior. I want to study psychology because it is where i think i should be. I am able to study the things that i like and be able to help other people at the same time.
